SOCIAL SERVICE/ADVOCACY https://www.gospelforrefugees.com/social-service-advocacy/ Fri, 02 Jul 2021 17:57:29 +0000 https://www.gospelforrefugees.com/?p=1395 Providing legal, moral and financial support to organizations and individuals that are in dire need of our support is part of Ethiopian Diaspora’s mission. As diasporas, we have been scattered and displaced, sometimes without family or friends- isolated in a “foreign” society. That being said, some of our fellow Ethiopians are forced to live in places where they are exposed and vulnerable to abuse. We must intervene in such situations by providing the necessary legal, moral and financial support.

NETWORKING https://www.gospelforrefugees.com/networking/ Fri, 02 Jul 2021 17:53:11 +0000 https://www.gospelforrefugees.com/?p=1393 Networking is one of the most important pillars of Ethiopian Diaspora. With the help of technology we create a strong and cohesive network of Ethiopians who long to be connected and involved in the development and progress of our people. The Ethiopian Diaspora website act as a virtual platform where Ethiopians around the world interact and work collaboratively on specific tasks. In-person networking events will be organized. We, as a people are our biggest resource. If we can tap into our community, we can be our strongest advocate and ally.

Here’s his message:

“International Migrants Day is an important day to think about all the people in the world who have had to leave their homes, including people who left because of wars or disasters, because they no longer had food or water, or because they wanted a better life for their families. Many of them even took dangerous journeys across oceans and deserts to find safety.”

“These people that you have heard so much about are just people. They are mums and dads, brothers and sisters, grandpas and grandmas. They are teachers, farmers and doctors. A lot of migrants are kids, just like you.
Many of them didn’t have a choice about leaving their homes. They were scared that, if they stayed, they would get hurt, or that their families might even be killed.”
